Things change.
Life goes on.
People come.
And people go.

You love.
And you loose.
You laugh.
And you cry.
Smile.
And frown
And live.
And dy.

But life continues.
You move on.
Pass beyond the trials.
The pain.
The sorrows.

Journeys come.
And journeys go.
Begin.
And End.

But we press on.
Our story continues.

We write the pages,
Of another day.

More hard times will come.
Happiness will find us again.

Fore we remain,
Constantly,
On this roller coaster of life.

I decided to write my final blog on the movie we are currently watching, Henry and June. I find it a very interesting movie. Unlike the critics from the video we saw in class, I think the movie is very sexual. After all, both writers in the movie, Henry and Anais Nin, are both writing about sex and how erotic it is. The movie does well to portray this. They are only human, and therefore have sexual needs as do we all. They, however, choose to satisfy this need with more than one person. Both Henry and Anais are married but are seeking satisfaction outside of their marriages. I don’t like this part of the movie because they are cheating are their spouses. It is interesting though that they feel they must satisfy themselves by being with eachother as well as their spouses. I think Anais is seeking to learn more of the erotic side of sex, and Henry is more than willing to show it to her. Her husband, on the other hand, isn’t as erotic in his sex. I find it very interesting that she seeks to learn about it from someone else. June doesn’t seem to care. She actually asks Anais to take care of Henry while she is gone. June also has an attraction to woman and shows that to Anais. Anais is learning not only erotic sex with a man, but also some pleasures of being with a woman. Anais’s husband, however, would hate if he found out that Anais was seeking to learn more about sex from people other than him. Although we haven’t finished the movie yet, I think it will have an explosive ending with Anais’s husband finding out and things going down hill from there. However, it is an interesting movie, but not something I would have chosen to watch in my own time.

Comfortable

I look at his pictures
in hopes of seeing you.
And when your face comes onto the screen
my heart skips a beat.

When I’m busy
things are easy.
You stay off my mind
and I think I’ve forgotten you.

Then you pop up again
in a dream,
and the process begins
all over again.

I look at your picture
and remember the few moments we shared.
They may not be many
fore I didn’t know you long.
But when I remember them
my eyes fill with tears,
for what could have been.

You tell me that you’ve changed
and in some ways
I probably have too.
But my feelings haven’t.
The way I cared for you,
it hasn’t changed.
The feelings you evoked in me
are still waiting,
dying
to be evoked once more.

Then she comes into view.
The one I could Never beat.
And she reminds me
that although we had a view good moments,
I will Never be her.

And that’s when I remember
that you should be with someone who Loves you,
Appreciates you.
Someone who would do Anything for you.
And who choses You
over everyother.

You’re with her
because it’s easy.
Because you know her
and how she works.
You’re comfortable,
even though she treats you badly.
Even though she could Never care for you
the way I could.
You take the easy, comfortable way out.

When she leaves you in the end
you’ll be fine.
It won’t matter.
Because you didn’t put the effort into it.
But the one big thing that comes with a challenge,
with something new,
is the possibility
of putting Too much into it.
And at That end,
losing Everything.

That is what Scares you away.
That is why you Never leave your comfort zone.
And that,
is why you’ll Never,
Truely be happy with her.

So continue doing what you do,
and being who you are.
Because she’ll Never change.
And she’ll Never be who You
Really
Truely want.
She’ll always be Part
of what you want.
Half
of what you Need.

And you’ll Never know
what it’s like
to be with
me.

In our last class, we talked more about our archetypes. What we thought about them and what we thought about the books we read that went with them. I agree with most of the things said in class. I did enjoy the ‘Awakening the Heroes Within’ book and its more detailed archetype test. I found the different archetypes interesting, but i enjoyed reading about my most dominate archetype the most. However, I also enjoyed reading about the archetypes that are second and third for me. I wasn’t surprised by the dominant archetypes I got. The caregiver, 1st, wasn’t surprising at all. The lover, 2nd, also wasn’t very surprising to me. My third most dominant archetype, seeker, however, was a little surprising. I didn’t expect it, but after reading about it, I felt that it is very true. Both the good side and the shadow fit me on many occasions.

My story would be titled ‘Becoming Me’
My genre would either be a musical or a collection of letters. A musical because I love music and there are a lot of songs that speak to me and kind of tell my life. Or a collection of letters because I do write in a diary, and my writings are to God.
I would be the protagonist, the world would be the antagonist, i don’t think I have a familiar, I prefer to do things on my own, but I do get help from others, including my parents and a close friend. God would be my guardian angel, and my friends would be traveling companions.
My conflict would be living to be who God wants me to be while living in a materialistic world.
I start out with being born, then throughout life I go through a road of trials, I’m helped throughout by a guardian angel and traveling companions. I’m also tempted by a god/goddess. And someday I plan on reaching my goal and the ultimate boon.
Alice Walker would probably be the writer because I like how she writes her story with letters.

I’m not really sure what to write this blog on. But the topic we’ve been talking about recently has been our new novel, Middlesex. My feelings on the book are as follows. I’ll admit that it is interesting to see how inbreding in a family can result to a child being born like Calliope. I have had really no former knowledge of this fact. Inbreding isn’t something that was discussed in my family on any kind of basis. I far as I know, there is no one in my family who has chosen to inbred, therefore, it was never brought up. And although the book has some interesting points and thoughts about it, I really don’t have much of a care for it. If it wasn’t a required novel, I wouldn’t be reading it. It isn’t something I’d choose to read in my spare time, nor is anything like it. Although it is a well written book, I wouldn’t recomend it to anyone unless they were thinking of inbreding.

Well in the page of the book, it introduces the character Calliope. It begins telling us that Calliope was born twice. First as a baby girl, and then second as a teenage boy. This in itself is rather queer and odd to me. This is the first time i’ve really heard or learned about the queer theory. To me, it seems that queer theory isn’t just someone who is sexually different, but someone who is just different in general. Calliope is definitely different. From it tells us on the first, Calliope is neither a male or female. Calliope has been one or the other at different times during Calliope’s life, and to many that would seem queer because its different. On the second page, it talks about the inbreading that has happened in Cal’s family. That also, is very queer to us because we are used to the norm of not inbreeding. So the life of Cal, as well as the lives of her family and ancestors are both queer to us.
